    • • Develop research programs in educational sciences for application to the health sciences
      • Create teaching activities, to be completed in person or as distance learning oriented towards medical education, in order to transmit pedagogic models, which contribute to the continuous improvement of competency of professionals in the fields of health sciences.
      • Generate teaching applications and investigate its educational impact in the area of the health sciences.
      • Develop products in educational technology, which serve as programs for teaching, learning and/or evaluation of health science professionals.
      • Promote research, development and application of new tools and models of evaluation, which contribute to guarantee in a reliable way, the proper manner in which the professional carries out his duties.
      • Improve the quality of patient care and the medical system through education.



    • PRACTICUM Institute conducts a major part of its activities in conjunction with well-known universities, scientific societies, medical colleges, university hospitals and other scientific and educational organizations in Spain, Latin America and the rest of Europe.

    • Laboratory for the Evaluation of Clinical Competence
  • The Laboratory for the Evaluation of Clinical Competence of the PRACTICUM Institute has as its main objective the development and experimentation of new instruments and models of evaluation, which contribute to an efficient assessment of the health professionals’ competence and which, at the same time, supports his / her clinical management through an improved form of learning.

    • The Script Concordance Test Project
    • In accordance with its efforts to bring to medical teaching new evaluation models, which permit a greater approximation to health professionals’ competence, the Laboratory for the Evaluation of Clinical Competence of the PRACTICUM Institute develops the international academic project “Script Concordance Test”, under the auspices of Université Laval (Québec, Canada). The project has a double objective of:
      • Contributing to promote qualitatively superior standards in the evaluation strategies in post graduate medical training and in maintenance of certification of specialists in teaching institutions or those institutions accredited for such ends.
      • Offering to professionals a teaching model for the training and strengthening of their clinical reasoning abilities, by serving as a support for their clinical tasks.
      An international academic clinical committee, composed of experts in medical education and cognitive psychology of international renown and specialists from different countries in more than 30 medical fields, collaborate in the development and implementation of the “Script Concordance Test”.
